Summerside native to coach Pacific Division

NEW YORK – Summerside native Gerard (Turk) Gallant is headed to the National Hockey League All-Star Weekend.
Gallant was announced on as the head coach of the Pacific Division in Tampa Bay on Jan. 27 and 28.
Also named as coaches for the all-star weekend were the Tampa Bay Lightning’s Jon Cooper (Atlantic Division), the Washington Capitals’ Barry Trotz (Metropolitan) and Nashville Predators’ Peter Laviolette (Central).
Gallant, as head coach, has guided the expansion Vegas Golden Knights, who went into Sunday night’s game against the New York Rangers with a record of 28-10-2 (won-lost-overtime record) for 58 points.
