The O’Leary Kraft Hockeyville Committee made the announcement on Friday.
Gallant, who grew up playing minor hockey in O’Leary, is a huge fan of the sport. He has been entertaining people for the past 15 years, has played at the Calgary Stampede and toured Canada, US and Japan as a Tim McGraw impersonator.
Gallant is always helping the O’Leary and area community and will be a big part of the entertainment during the outdoor festival on Sunday, Sept. 24, during the Kraft Hockeyville winning weekend celebration.
He is currently writing a new record of original material, which will be recorded in the spring.
Blanchard, an ECMA award-winning singer/songwriter, moved to the O’Leary area last year with her now husband Thomas Webb of Webb’s Vegetables.
Blanchard has toured Canada, the United States and the United Kingdom and is working on her fourth studio album with Jim Bryson called the “Great Escape.”
“I have completely fallen in love with this community,” she said. “It really means a lot to be part of this. It makes me feel part of this beautiful vibrant community.”
The Hockeyville game between the Ottawa Senators and the New Jersey Devils will be played at the Credit Union Place in Summerside on Sept. 25.
The final chance to enter the ticket lottery to see the game will be on Sunday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the O'Leary Legion. Lottery is open to 18 and older and must have photo ID and one document showing your mailing address.
