Coughlin scores OT winner as Falcons qualify for quarter-final in Quebec

QUEBEC CITY, QUE. – The Sherwood Parkdale Falcons are into the quarter-finals at the Quebec International Peewee Hockey Tournament.

The Falcons, who are representing the Charlottetown Islanders at the competition, beat the Quebec Centre Frontenacs 3-2 in overtime on Thursday.

Luke Coughlin scored the winning goal with assists going to Thatcher Hughes and Victor Steele. Connor Pierce (1-1) and Steele scored the goals in regulation with assists to Michael Gallant and Coughlin.

The Falcons play the Boston Junior Bruins Friday at 5:15 p.m. Atlantic.

Some of the game’s biggest stars have played in the event over the years, including Brad Park, Guy Lafleur, Wayne Gretzky, Mario Lemieux, Patrick Roy, Steven Stamkos.
