CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Daniel Hardie tied it and Sam King won it as the Charlottetown Islanders scored a 3-2 comeback victory Saturday over the Chicoutimi Sagueneens.

The game was tied 1-1 after the first while Chicoutimit took a 2-1 lead to the third during Quebec Major Junior Hockey League play at the Eastlink Centre. The Islanders outshot the visitors 18-5 in the final 20 minutes and 38-24 for the contest.

Derek Gentile also scored for the home side while assists went to Saku Vesterinen, Pierre-Olivier Joseph, Brett Budgell, Noah Massie, Keith Getson and Sullivan Sparkes.

Samuel Houde and Vincent Tremblay-Lapalme replied for Chicoutimi with assists going to Vladislav Kotkov, Kevin Klima, Mathieu Desgagnes and Morgan Nauss.

Rookie Dakota Lund-Cornish made 22 saves for the win while Alexis Shank stopped 35 shots in the loss. The attendance for the matinee was 2,745 as part of the Hockey Day in P.E.I. events.

Chicoutimi was 2-for-5 on the power play while Charlottetown was 1-for-3.

Charlottetown improved its record to 29-20-4-0 while Chicoutimi, which had won five straight games including knocking off top teams Blainville-Boisbriand, Rimouski and Halifax all in overtime, is 22-25-4-0. The Islanders hit the road to Quebec this week for games Wednesday in Gatineau Rouyn-Noranda on Friday and Val-d’Or on Saturday.
