Sherwood-Parkdale defeats Summerside

SLEMON PARK – Five players recorded two points to help the Sherwood-Parkdale Metros to a 5-3 victory over the Summerside Cover-All Construction Crunch on Friday night.
The Plex was the site of the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League contest.
Shawn Corney (2), Logan Toole (1-1), Jake Arsenault (1-1) and Owen Arsenault scored for the league-leading Metros, who are now 18-2-0 (won-lost-overtime losses). Stephen Gaudet and Marc Cummiskey each chipped in with two assists while single helpers went to Matthew Sinnott, Ridge Crane and Hunter Boudreau.
James Briand (1-1), Tristan Gallant and Kolton Stright answered for the Crunch (6-11-1).
The Metros led 2-0 after the opening period, and took a 4-2 cushion into the second intermission.
Overall, the Metros outshot the Crunch 38-28. James Duffy earned the goaltending win, and affiliated player Isaac Ford was between the pipes for Summerside.
