Flames knock off league-leading Lynx

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Connor Andrews scored twice and set up two more to pace the North River Flames to a 6-1 win over the Southside MacDonald’s Excavation/EF MacPhee Lynx in Razzy’s Prince Edward Island Junior C Hockey League action.

Alex Young and Sam MacPhail each had a goal and an assist while Liam O’Connor and Spencer Beaton also scored as the Flames knocked off the league leaders at the APM Centre in Cornwall.

Matt Craig and Brandon Watts each had two assists while Jarrod MacAdam and Brady McQuaid each chipped in one.

C.J. McCardle from Garrett Murray and Brady Vandervelden accounted for the Lynx goal.

Alex Smith made 46 saves for the win while Sean MacPhee stopped 35 shots in the loss.

North River held period leads of 2-0 and 4-1.
