The Rimouski Oceanic will be without one of its top defencemen for the next two games against the Charlottetown Islanders.

The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League suspended Charles-Edouard D’Astous for cross-checking to the head of Islanders centre Kameron Kielly during Tuesday’s Game 3 in Charlottetown.

D’Astous was paired with captain Simon Bourque on the Oceanic’s top defence pair on Tuesday.

The league did not hand any supplementary discipline to Oceanic’s defenceman Andrew Picco for his check from behind to Oliver Cooper early in the third period. Picco received a five-minute major penalty and a game misconduct.

The Islanders lead the best-of-seven series 2-1.

Tonight’s Game 4 is a 7 p.m. start at the Eastlink Centre.
