Forwards Nathan Yetman and Zach Beaton cleared waivers after being released by the Charlottetown Islanders on Monday.

“We’ll wait and see where they want to play,” Islanders general manager Grant Sonier said Wednesday.

The Summerside Western Capitals own the junior A rights for both players.

“They would be perfect (affiliated) players for us,” Sonier said.

The Islanders added a goalie and let one go on Tuesday.

Coming to town is Chase Marchand, an 18-year-old from Upper Tantallon, N.S., while Grant Grady was released. Grady is heading to the Yarmouth Mariners junior A camp.

Marchand was 5-6 with a 2.85 goals-against average in 12 games last year with the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles before being released. He played four games with the Mississauga Steelheads of the Ontario Hockey League.

Also in the battle for the backup spot is Daryl MacCallum with Mason McDonald the team’s starting goalie.

The Islanders travel to northern New Brunswick Friday to play the Acadie-Bathurst Titan at 7:30 p.m. before hosting Moncton Sunday at 4 p.m. at the APM Centre in Cornwall.

The Halifax Mooseheads signed former P.E.I. Rocket Kelly Bent on Wednesday. The 19-year-old left-winger is from Halifax. He had four goals, two assists and 120 penalty minutes in 56 games last season with the Saint John Sea Dogs.

The Rocket traded him to Gatineau during the 2012-13 season for defenceman Anthony Cortese.
