Ross Johnston played the 2013-14 season with the Victoriaville Tigres. He will play for the Charlottetown Islanders as an overager in 2014-15.

Ross Johnston is officially a member of the Charlottetown Islanders.

The team announced the trade for the 20-year-old left-winger early Friday afternoon. The cost to acquire the Suffolk native from Victoriaville was a first-round in 2015. The pick was initially acquired in the deal that sent Yan-Pavel Laplante and Julien Leduc to Victoriaville and brought Luc Deschenes to Charlottetown.

Johnston had 10 goals, 15 assists, 25 points and 139 penalty minutes in 60 games last season.

“I’m pretty excited to get started here in August,” Johnston said.
