HARTLAND, N.B. – Charlottetown’s Tyler Hashmi shot a 1-over par 145 two-round total to claim his first East Coast junior championship.

Hashmi had a final round 1-under par 71 and, combined with his 74 in Round 1, earned the title at the Covered Bridge Golf and Country Club in Hartland, N.B.

Maxime Gaudet of Memramcook, N.B., was second (149), while Owen Mullen of Truro, N.S., was third (150).

Other Island golfers included Belfast’s Cam White (tied for 11th), Cornwall’s Adrian Mallet and Summerside’s Sam MacNeill (tied for 14th), Charlottetown’s Michael Favier (16th) and Luke Dillon and Zack Willis (tied for 26th), Emerald’s Campbell Mayne (tied for 30th), Charlottetown’s Matthew Cole (42), Cornwall’s Bradley Chisholm (46th) and Wood Islands’ Evan Stewart (did not finish).

Cole placed fifth in the six-player bantam boys’ division.
