CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – It’s going to be interesting to see what Paul M. Schurman says when Franklin Session scores his first basket for the Island Storm tonight.
Session also goes by Frank Nitty, a nickname he has had since high school. Its origin has a bit to do with his liking of clothing, but also Frank Nitti, who was known as The Enforcer and was one of Al Capone’s top henchmen.
“I’m more like the enforcer on the court. I’m like the Frank Nitti movie back in the day,” Session said. “They called me the enforcer that kind of carried over with me because of how hard I play and how hard I go for my teammates. I don't let anybody pick on us or give us any crap on the court. . .
“I make sure that if anybody is talking that I’m right there with them to let them know we’re not backing down.”
So what’s his presence?
“I’m going to be honest — I love Frank Nitty,” he smiled. “It has a better ring to it. It gives me kind of a character.”
