The Clippers recorded a 48-0 shutout over the host Souris Wildcats to remain perfect in the Papa John’s P.E.I. Varsity Tackle Football League. The Clippers, defending Potato Bowl champions, will go into their bye week at 3-0 (won-lost).
The Waterwise Spartans registered a 55-6 decision over the host Kings County Steelers. The win evened the Spartans’ record at 2-2 in the Papa John’s P.E.I. Bantam Tackle Football League.

Cole Adams got the Clippers off to a quick start with a 60-yard touchdown run. Summerside quarterback Owen Turner connected with wide receiver Parker Cameron for a 10-yard catch in the end zone before the end of the opening quarter.
In the second quarter, Adams scored a touchdown on a 20-yard run, Turner scampered home from five yards out and Cameron caught a 10-yard pass from Turner for a major score as the Clippers took a 34-0 advantage into halftime.
Adams scored his third touchdown of the game on a 90-yard run in the third quarter, and back-up quarterback Nic Gunning found Spencer Haakman on a 50-yard pass play for the Clippers’ final major.
Summerside kicker Caleb Dawson converted six of seven extra points.
Spartans 55 Steelers 6
Ethan Haakman scored three running touchdowns to lead the Spartans, who return home to host the Charlottetown Privateers at Eric Johnston Field on Friday at 6 p.m.
Summerside linebacker Breton Brown scored a Pick 6 while quarterback Riley Molyneaux had a one-yard run for a major. Zackary Blood, Paul Wamboldt and Kieran Arsenault were also credited with touchdowns for the Spartans, who successfully kicked three of seven extra points.
