Birchwood Field in Charlottetown was one of the 10 winning communities in the Kraft Celebration Tour.
The winners were announced Tuesday during Canada Day celebrations.
Each winner receives $25,000 towards its project. Canadians will get to vote online July 21 and 22 to determine which winner will receive $100,000.
“$100,000 would give the Privateers Football Club a home,” says the Birchwood Field section on the Kraft Celebration Tour site.
It talks about the club’s history and development during the past 12 years and the players bouncing from field to field for practices and games.
“We want to create a home for minor football in Charlottetown,” the site says.
Organizers would like to add a scoreboard, storage facilities and other amenities.
Each of the 10 winners will host a live broadcast of TSN’s SportsCentre between Aug. 15 and 24. Birchwood Field’s tour date is Thursday, Aug. 21.
