ST. ANDREWS, N.B. – It was a special weekend for two P.E.I. curlers at the Canadian under-18 curling championships.
Lauren Ferguson, who skipped the P.E.I. female entry, teamed with Troy Chong from the British Columbia male team to win the silver medal in the mixed doubles event. Ferguson’s team coach, David Murphy, coached the gold-medal winners in mixed doubles.

Prestigious award
Team P.E.I.’s Colin MacKenzie was announced as a recipient of a prestigious award.
MacKenzie received the Fair Play Award for the lead position. The awards were voted on by the umpires of the championships.
MacKenize is a member of the Mitchell Schut-skipped rink that curls out of the Cornwall Curling Club.
