‘Canes hit the badminton court in Halifax tonight

HALIFAX, N.S. – The Holland College Hurricanes badminton team lands in Halifax today as the University of King’s College Blue Devils host the third Atlantic Collegiate Athletic Association (ACAA) event of the season.

Dal-AC, the Université de Sainte-Anne and Mount Allison round out the five-team competition.

Play starts today at 7 p.m. and continues Saturday at 9 a.m.

The Hurricanes finished in third place in each of the first two events this season.

Holland College’s squad includes Jonah Wilton (men’s singles A) and Matt Barlow (men’s singles B), while David Cozens and Barlow team up for men’s doubles A and Wilton and Connor Loerick compete in men’s doubles B.

Emma Hughes laces up her sneakers for the women’s singles A event. Then Hughes and Loerick represent the Hurricanes in mixed doubles A.

The Hurricanes host the ACAA badminton championships Feb. 17-18 in Charlottetown.
