Sunday’s KCBL game to determine third place

MONTAGUE, P.E.I. – The Kings County Baseball League (KCBL) will try to finish up their regular season this Sunday.

The game will be played in Morell, but the game time is to be determined as it is based on umpire availability.

The Northside Brewers and Morell Chevies will play one game to decide third place in the league standings. The winner will play the second-place The Alley Stratford Athletics while the loser will play the Peakes Bombers, the regular season champs.

The league hopes to get the playoffs started on Wednesday.

On Thursday, the league will hold its annual awards banquet. Social hour is 6 p.m. and dinner starts around 6:30 p.m. Guest speaker for this year will be Paul (Woofer) Affleck, who was one of the best lefties to pitch in the KCBL and holds the league record of being on three different championship teams.
