STRATFORD, P.E.I. – The Alley Stratford Athletics jumped out a to 6-1 lead and held on for a 6-5 win over the Peakes Bombers in Kings County Baseball League playoff action Tuesday in Morell.

Stratford leads the best-of-five semifinal 2-0 and clinch a berth in the with a Game 3 victory Sunday in Peakes. First pitch is 2 p.m.

The Bombers pulled within one run and loaded the bases with one out in the bottom of the seventh inning, but the A’s Dan O’Shea struck out the next two hitters and picked up the save in relief of starter Seth Hewitt, who earned the win.

Josh Coffin suffered the loss with relief from Dillon Doucette.

Shawn MacDougall and O’Shea each had two hits to lead the Athletics at the plate with each hitting a solo home run.

Matt Bradley had two hits to lead the Bombers.
