CARDIGAN, P.E.I. – Noah Stewart threw a complete game, three-hit shutout to lead the Peakes Tee Bombers to their sixth win of the Kings County Baseball League season, defeating the Cardigan Clippers 10-0 Wednesday in Cardigan.
Sam Walsh absorbed the loss for the Clippers, throwing five innings with relief from Dean Carroll.
Dillon Doucette hit a two-run homerun and had three RBI to lead the Bombers, going 3-for-4 at the plate. Colin Myers went 2-for-5 and Luke MacDonald 1-for-2 with a double for the Bombers.
The Clippers hits came from Carter MacLellan, Charles MacLellan and Jed Walsh, who was 1-for-1 with a walk.
The Bombers travel to Stratford Sunday afternoon to face the Athletics in another matchup of last year’s league final.
Athletics 18, Jays 7
The Alley Stratford Athletics defeated the Charlottetown Jays 18-7 in five innings.
Winning pitcher was Seth Hewitt with relief from Jonathan Arsenault while John Burke was the losing pitcher with relief from Terry MacDonald and Craig Lawlor.
Grant Grady was 3-for-4 with two-run homer for the Athletics while Randy Taylor and Allister Smith each had two hits.
Stephen Power who was 2-for-2 to lead the Jays while Brodie Coffin went 1-for-2.
