CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The P.E.I. Junior Islanders welcome back No. 3 hitter Kyle Pinksen to their lineup today when they host the Metro Mudcats from Moncton in a New Brunswick Junior Baseball League doubleheader.

The first game begins at noon at Memorial Field.

Pinksen, the 20-year-old Kensington native, has been unavailable the last three weekends. He’s expected to add some pop to the lineup for an Island squad that will have its hands full with a deep Mudcats pitching staff.

Jed Noonan and Chasse Gallant have been sparking the Isles offence in the early part of the season. On the mound, Nolan Hicken, Porter Smith, Johnny Arsenault and rookie Chandler LaPorte, are expected to work today for the home squad.

Today’s games will be the Isles first action since splitting a doubleheader in Saint John, N.B., on May 27. The team had four games postponed last weekend due to bad weather.

Moncton (6-1) had a convincing doubleheader sweep of the Islanders (3-3) in their previous visit to the Charlottetown and have lost only once on the young season.
