The game was a see-saw affair with Stratford opening up a two-run lead in the first on a pair of hits and a Peakes error.

The Bombers picked up a run in the second then exploded in the third for five runs off Stratford starter Dan O’Shea. A pair of Stratford runs in the third, then two more in the fourth knotted the game.

Connor Myers put the Bombers ahead to stay in the fifth with a two-run double, and Rob Phalen shut the door the rest of the way for the complete game victory.

Top batters for the Bombers were Myers 2-for-4 with a pair of doubles and five RBIs, Tyson McInnis 3-for-3 with a pair of RBI, and Dillon Doucette 2-for-3 with an RBI. Shawn MacDougal 2-for-4 with an RBI, Corey Dougay 1-for-2, and Dominic Ryan 1-for-3, led the offence for Stratford.

Game three in the best-of-seven series will be held Sunday at 4 p.m. at MacDonald Field in Peakes.
