The board of directors of Baseball P.E.I. recently made the announcement. The bursary is valued at $500.
MacDougall, a recent graduate of Three Oaks Senior High School in Summerside, has compiled an impressive resumé. This summer, he is playing for an 18-under/midget team in Summerside, the provincial midget all-stars and the Canada Games team.
“Logan MacDougall embodies the criteria of the Tanner Craswell and Mitch MacLean Memorial Bursary as he is an elite player on Baseball P.E.I.’s provincial teams, is a clear leader on all of the teams he is part of, and due to his hard work will be playing collegiate baseball in western Canada this fall,” read a media release issued by Baseball P.E.I.
In the past, he has represented Prince Edward Island at several national tournaments, including the national 18-under championship, the Baseball Canada Cup, the national 15-under championship and the national Atlantic 13-under championship.
The media release goes on to note MacDougall has consistently been one of the top – if not the top – players on each team he’s played on.
MacDougall’s hard work has paid off as he will be attending the University of Calgary in the fall, and will play baseball with the Dinos.
A well-rounded athlete, MacDougall is a three-time senior male athlete of the year at Three Oaks, and has starred in five sports. As a student, his marks – despite an often difficult course load – have been excellent, and he graduated with honours.
