MORELL, P.E.I. – The Northside Gill Construction Brewers held off the Morell Chevies 7-5 Sunday in Morell to clinch third place in the Kings County Baseball League.

The Brewers will now play the second-place The Alley Stratford Athletics in the first round of the playoffs beginning Wednesday at 7:30 p.m. at Memorial Field in Charlottetown. The second best-of-five semifinal will see the first-place Peakes Tee Bombers and the Chevies play in Morell Wednesday night. A start time was unavailable on Sunday.

Bryan Linton pitched a complete game victory for the Brewers on Sunday while Taylor Larkin suffered the loss with relief from Andrew O’Shea.

Spencer Smith was 3-for-4 to spark the Brewers offence while D.J. Dunn went 2-for-3 and Nick Ryan was 2-for-4 with three RBI.

Scott Harper and Darcy Affleck both went 2-for-4 for the Chevies.
