CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Kings County Baseball League opens its 28th season with a pair of games tonight at Memorial Field.
The P.E.I. Youth Selects will host the Morell Chevies at 6:30 p.m. followed by an encounter with the Action Aero Expos at 8:30 p.m. The Selects play a shorten season of 12 games.
The league has three games slated for Sunday.
The Peakes Bombers begin the quest for a third straight title when they host the Charlottetown Jays at 2 p.m. at MacDonald Field. The Jays also play a shorten season of 12 games.
Also at 2 p.m., the Cardigan Clippers host the Chevies at the Clipper Field.
At 6 p.m., the Stratford Athletics take a trip across the Hillsbourgh Bridge for a game with the Expos at Memorial Field.
The Northside Brewers will wait until Wednesday to open their season with an away game at Memorial Field against the Jays. Game starts at 6:30 p.m.
The league will have a 24-game schedule with the top four teams qualifying for the playoffs.
