RIVERVIEW, N.B. – The Capital District Islanders finished second during the weekend at the Bob Donahue mosquito AAA baseball tournament in Riverview, N.B.
The tourney consisted of some of the 12 best teams in the Maritimes. The Islanders 2-1 in round-robin playing, beating Hammonds Plains, N.S., and Moncton while losing to Port City from Saint John, N.B.
Capital District defeated the Halifax Mets 3-2 in the semifinal and lost 7-2 to Port City in the championship game. The Islanders were led by Yasu Hojo, Kayden Kelly and Connor Rowell.
The next big date for the Islanders is The Fiddler tournament during the July 20 weekend in Charlottetown.
