CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Holland College Hurricanes baseball team looks to remain perfect on Sunday.
The Hurricanes, who have started the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association regular season 4-0, will travel to Fredericton, N.B., to take on UNB (1-1) in an Atlantic conference regular-season doubleheader that begins at 1 p.m.
“UNB will provide strong competition for our team this weekend, so our game plan is to keep it simple and play our game one inning at a time,” said Hurricanes outfielder and pitcher Chandler LaPorte of Cornwall.
The Hurricanes are coming off a strong opening weekend, which included taking two victories versus the Saint Mary’s Huskies at home, before sweeping both games from the host Acadia Axemen.
UNB split a pair of games with the Axemen.
Ryan Abraham (1-0) is expected to be the starting pitcher Game 1 for the Hurricanes while Tyler Johnston (1-0) is likely to get the ball for Game 2.
The Hurricanes next home action is against the St. FX X-Men at Memorial Field on Sunday, Sept. 23. Game times are 1 and 3:30 p.m.
