Eastern Braves loses to Ontario, Quebec at under-16 Easterns

DARTMOUTH, N.S. – The Eastern Braves lost a pair of games Friday at the under-16 Eastern Canadian girls’ softball championship in Dartmouth, N.S.

The Braves lost 9-1 in five innings to London Lightning (Ontario Two) and 5-0 to the Phenix (Quebec One).

Breeana Creaser, who drew two walks, scored the Braves only run against the Lightning while key hits went to Cailyn MacAulay and Maria Brown.

Abbey Smith took the loss while catcher Kate Doyle was named the team’s player of the game.

Doyle, Jessica Murphy, Emma Fleming and Creaser were the Braves top hitters against Quebec One.

Darcie Kelly took the loss while MacAulay, who turned a double play, was named the team’s player of the game.

The Braves were slated to face Newfoundland and Labrador Two and New Brunswick One Saturday in must-win games to move into Sunday’s crossovers.
