Keith Craswell takes over coaching duties from team founder Allison Macdonald. Craswell comes in with plenty of experience as a two-time assistant with the men's baseball team at the Canada Games.
The team approached Craswell two seasons ago when Macdonald stepped back in the organization.
Dillon Doucette returns as an infielder after missing most of last year, while Marshall Ellis should provide some power at the plate and depth at catcher and lefty Dan O'Shea gives the Islanders more starting pitching and infield and outfield depth.
Joe Puiia, long-time Isles' pitching coach, also returns.
The league contracted this season to five teams, down from six, after the Hub City Brewers folded and combined with the Moncton Mets.
The home opener for the Islanders is Saturday, May 23, in a double-dip with the Fredericton Royals, beginning at 2 p.m. at Memorial Field in Charlottetown.
