CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Northside Gill Construction Brewers scored nine runs in the first inning and cruised to an 11-1 over the Charlottetown Jays Sunday in Kings County Baseball League action.

The game was called after five innings due to the mercy rule.

Jason MacLean pitched a complete game three-hitter for the win. D.J. Dunn and Mitchell Ryan had back-to-back two-run doubles in the first to lead the attack.

Terry MacDonald suffered the loss with relief from Brodie Coffin. Mark Goyetche, Craig Cooper (with a double) and Jamie MacDonald had the Jay hits.

The Brewers have a doubleheader Wednesday in Morell against the Expos at 6:30 p.m. followed by a game with the Peakes Bombers.
