Blue tosses two-hitter as Brewers defeat Expos in KCBL play

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Northside Gill Construction Brewers tied the game in the top of the sixth, took the lead in the seventh and held on for a 2-1 win over the Charlottetown Expos Wednesday in Kings County Baseball League action.

Nick Ryan led off the sixth inning with a double and Will Jadis traded places with him two batters later to get the Brewers on the board at Memorial Field. In the seventh, Spencer Smith scored on Nigel Fisher’s two-out hit to take the lead. Ryan finished 3-for-4 and Smith was 2-for-4 to lead the Brewer bats.
Tyson Blue pitched a complete game two-hitter for the win, leaving runners stranded on second and third to end the game.

Tyler Johnson suffered the loss for the Expos. Brad Mullen had a double and Jeremy Keoughan had the other Expo hit.

Chevies 11, Athletics 6

The Morell Chevies scored five runs in the bottom of the first inning to erase an early 3-0 deficit and went on to defeat The Alley Stratford Athletics 11-6 on Wednesday evening in Morell.

Taylor Larkin picked up the win for the Chevies, while Corey Dougay was the losing pitcher.

Scott Harper and Desi Doyle each had three hits to lead the Chevies offence with Logan Gallant collecting a pair of hits and Josh MacDonald reaching base four times with a single and three walks.

Johnny Arsenault collected two of Stratford's five hits on the night.
