CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – Darcy Affleck broke open a 3-2 game with a bases-clearing double in the sixth inning as the Morell Chevies doubled the Charlottetown Jays 6-3 Wednesday in Kings County Baseball League action.

Affleck picked up the pitching win with Taylor Larkin pitching the seventh for the save. Terry MacDonald, with relief from Robin Hood, took the loss.

The Chevies grabbed an early 1-0 advantage on a Desi Doyle RBI single before extending the lead to 3-0 in the second on Scott Harper’s two-run single.

The Jays drew to within a run in the fifth inning as John Burke and Stephen Power each drove in a run. However, Affleck would step to the plate with the bases loaded in the sixth and deliver a deep drive to right field that would cash in three runs.

Craig Copper delivered an RBI double in the seventh inning to close out the scoring for the Jays. Harper and Troy Coffin finished 2-for-2 for the Chevies.
