CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Alley Stratford Athletics are going to meet the Peakes Tee Bombers to decide the Kings County Baseball League championship.
Stratford defeated the Northside Brewers 6-1 Wednesday night to come back from a 2-0 series deficit and take the best-of-five semifinal series 3-2.
Dan O’Shea allowed only one unearned run over a complete game four-hitter with nine strikeouts to get the win while Jason MacLean suffered the loss with relief from Tyson Blue.
Adam Smith keyed a three-run fourth inning with a two-run single. The Athletics added another three runs in the bottom of the fifth inning.
Shawn MacDougall and Marshall Ellis each had two hits to aid the Athletics attack. Nigel Fisher had two hits for the Brewers.
Peakes Tee punched its ticket to the final with an 8-7 come-from-behind win over the Morell Chevies this past Sunday. The Chevies had a 7-2 lead in the game before the Bombers clawed their way back.
Game 1 of the final will go Sunday at 4 p.m. in Peakes.
