TIGNISH – The Tignish Perry’s Construction Aces are 1-1 (won-lost) after the opening weekend of the 2017-18 regular season.
After dropping their opening game in the Razzy’s P.E.I. Junior C Hockey League to the defending-champion Southside Lynx 4-2 in Crapaud on Saturday night, the Aces rebounded to defeat the Georgetown Eagles 5-2 in their home opener on Sunday night. It was the Eagles’ debut.
At the Tignish Credit Union Arena, Chase McCue and Colton Chaisson each scored two goals for the Aces, who received a single tally from Brayden Handrahan. Denis Arsenault, Curklan Fraser, Dawson Sellick, Michael Callaghan, Colton DesRoches and Brady Albert were credited with assists.
Ryan Osborne and Riley Lavandier answered for the Eagles.
The teams were tied 1-1 after the opening frame, but the Aces took a 3-2 cushion into the second intermission.
Andrew Gallant earned the goaltending win.
