Hurricanes sweep Acadia to open up CCBA season on the road

CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. - The Holland Hurricanes men’s baseball team kicked off its 2017 regular season with a pair of wins against the Acadia Axemen in Wolfville, N.S.

The ‘Canes earned victories of 11-6 and 6-4 to start the Canadian Collegiate Baseball Association Atlantic Conference season at 2-0.
Hurricanes veteran pitcher Brady Arsenault started in Game 1 on Saturday, pitching six innings of scoreless baseball. Jarue Thompson and Brandon Greeno would enter the game in the seventh in relief.
On Sunday, Colin Arsenault got the start and pitched the complete game for the victory.
Rain postponed Sunday’s scheduled doubleheader in Antigonish, N.S., versus the St. FX X-Men. The double dip now goes Saturday, Oct. 7.
Next, the Hurricanes host St. FX on Saturday for a home-opening doubleheader at Memorial Field. Game 1 start time is 1 p.m.
Sunday, Holland College faces University of New Brunswick in Fredericton for a doubleheader beginning at 1 p.m.
