Titan romp over Islanders in QMJHL pre-season contest

The Acadie-Bathurst Titan scored the first six goals in a 7-3 romp over the Charlottetown Islanders in Quebec Major Junior Hockey League pre-season action Saturday in Pownal.

Nicolas Dumulong and Egor Popov each scored twice for the Titan while Jimmy Huntington, Marc-André Gauvreau and Liam Hynes added single goals.

Mitchell Balmas, Nathan Yetman and Julien Avon had the Islanders goals. David Henley and Lucas Sangster each chipped in an assist.

The Isles dropped to 0-2 in the pre-season. Acadie-Bathurst went to 1-0.

Charlottetown outshot Acadie-Bathurst 40-35 and finished 0-for-4 on the power play. The Titan was 2-for-7 with the extra man.

Darryl MacCallum and Logan Cooke shared time in the Islanders net while Antoine Landry and Alexandre Lagacé were in the Titan goal.

Charlottetown training camp resumes Monday in Pownal.
