For those of you that don't know the Drive-By Truckers, get familiar with them before the show. They are far and away the best alt country/southern rock band working today. You owe it to your ears to listen to some DBT tonight.

The insular nature of Islanders is getting very old. Do you think when the organizers of Coachella in California announce their lineup that Californians start clamouring for local talent. There are some local acts featured during the festival which is great, but this is something different. The Big Red festival is about allowing Islanders to see popular bands in their own backyard. If local bands interest you then just venture out into the city any Friday or Saturday night and you'll find a multitude of them.
