Marianas Trench

Marianas Trench is among the acts confirmed today for this summer’s Big Red Festival in Charlottetown.

Organizers announced the first set of acts at noon today, promising more announcements are still to come.

Marianas Trench, Bridgit Mendler, Lights, Crystalyne will take the stage on Saturday, June 28.

The following day will see the Sam Roberts Band, Hey Rosetta, Adam Baldwin and North Lakes among the artists entertaining festivalgoers.

Last week, it was unveiled that Charlottetown will host a free concert on Canada Day featuring Tegan and Saram Barenaked Ladies, George Canyon, Roch Voisin, Classified and David Myles.

Organizers with Big Red added that there is still another round of announcements “coming up very soon’’.

Tickets for the June 28-29 shows go on sale April 25.

Canada Day is separate and free. The rest you pay as always. And once again Charlottetown organizers manage to confuse everyone by mixing the commercial Big Red Festival with the free Canada Day concerts. This question will come up again and again before July even though there really is no connection.
