MONTAGUE — Private videos screened at a town hall Christmas party here last week are beginning to appear on social media sites.

Mayor Richard Collins and six elected town councillors are displayed in an array of uncharacteristic poses with their faces superimposed on different bodies, including elves, children and dancing Mexicans.

Coun. Peggy MacLeod takes a snowball in the face, former MLA and Conservative cabinet minister Jim Bagnall extracts a pumpkin pie from an oven and Collins is found playing the maracas.

But sources say the videos only confirm the Christmas spirit is alive and well in eastern P.E.I.’s largest town.

“We were all delighted and got a tremendous laugh,’’ said Mayor Collins about the one minute videos surfacing in emails and posted to Facebook. “It was good medicine for the soul.”

The videos were shown at the town Xmas party last week and masterminded by chief administrative officer Andy Daggett.

“For me it’s the easiest way to send a Christmas card,’’ admitted Daggett.

The three videos depict the elected officials tobogganing down hills, dancing and wearing sombreros and dressed as elves as they provide a rendition of Rockin’ around the Christmas tree.

These JibJab cards are cute - but make sure once you put them on your credit card that you take them off again, otherwise you'll keep paying each month until you do!
