Medals that were supposed to be handed out to members of the community, who have gone above and beyond, are being kept by Canadian senators for themselves.

Here on P.E.I. we have three Unsung Senate Heroes who decided they deserved a medal. Mike Duffy heads the list as our best-known, unsung hero. Libby Hubley? Well, poor Libby fell off a barge in Holland, so she must deserve a medal. Next we have Diane Griffin. She has only been a senator for five minutes, nevertheless decided she too deserves a medal?

We are so fortunate to have such amazing, medal-bedecked senators in this tiny province. As a veteran I could say this is tantamount to “stolen valour.” This happens when a person wears military medals which he/she never earned.
