EDITOR:

The letter about dumping garbage at a seniors’ residence rang alarm bells for me. I live at Duvar Court, a seniors’ residence, and we have a terrible problem with our garbage. Because the cans - only 12 of each for 38 apartments - are on the street we have become the dumping ground for this end of the city.

People pull up in the night and fill our cans, people on the street move out and fill our cans, our neighbours fill our cans.

In a building that has no money for repairs, we are told it's because of the extra fees to take away the garbage. I beg government, which is the landlord, to do something. We have some repairs in our building that have needed to be done for years.

If you make garbage, deal with it yourself. Your problem should not be shuffled onto the back of seniors.

Charlottetown
