Ms. Lund, your opinion piece in the Guardian I found to be an insightful, enlightening and refreshing view of what is required in order to initiate business on P.E.I. Yes, the younger cohort must be encouraged and supported to engage in business enterprises. The 'incubator' idea is well worth addressing; the entrepreneur for example, needs to have ownership from the get-go as opposed to the hand out mentality to which we have become accustomed.

Historically there are many instances where our primary, secondary and tertiary sectors are afforded substantial financial resources and to be fair some of these investments have success while a greater number have not - check out the track record of ACOA.

I believe the younger generation already 'thinks outside the box' and this must be supported and reinforced. Yes the technology sector is very successful but can grow. Our two primary industries are limited in growth potential; there is a finite amount of farmland available, which is further hampered by an increase in machinery utilization and decrease in labour market participation.

I do not share your optimism that the latest game of musical chairs by the Liberals will develop into any substantive change in the way the present regime governs.

My optimism is driven by the emergence of the female voice in government. I believe that people such as yourself, Tina Mundy (if the premier will allow her), Hannah Bell and Darlene Compton, in addition to the women waiting in the wings, will drive the optimism.
