EDITOR:
It isn't good enough for Peter Bevan-Baker to thank James Aylward for his suggestion for a legislature based on Nunavut without political parties and tell us Mixed Member Proportional Representation must come first. Aylward hasn't explained why the Nunavut model wasn't part of the plebiscite.
Bevan-Baker was present when I opposed the party leader's right to sign a candidate's card and I wanted the right to recall politicians. The RCMP and municipal police forces refuse to protect voters from party leaders influencing an election by choosing the Chief Electoral Officer or MLAs using road-paving to influence people voting by not charging these politicians under the Controverted Elections Act.
I see no reason to trust any of the political parties. Only an MLA can file a complaint with the Conflict of Interest Conflict commissioner and the ethics commissioner.
