EDITOR:
The news lately has been carrying the story of Jim Munves and his wife, Barbara. The stories have all been about Mr. Munves and his needs and wants. Barbara has needs. She has no voice. She does have rights. I hope her interests are being expressed by others. The past is gone, and the present is here. What was prevalent years ago, may no longer exist.
This is not a story about age discrimination but a story about a disease called dementia. Please consider Barbara’s rights and allow her to live her life in a safe, secure environment. She deserves peace and respect which she is receiving at the Atlantic Baptist Nursing Home. She is content and doesn’t deserve an upheaval over an unnecessary move.
