EDITOR:

I have often thought of the large space that will be left vacant when the old Prince Edward Home will be demolished. What would be suitable, environmental and ground-breaking on our Island which tries to portray itself as a green haven? It seems to me that a large indoor botanical garden would add so much to the island - from the learning opportunities for adults and schoolchildren alike, not to mention anyone seeking a refuge from some never-ending winter.

Its location is perfect. It would, if properly planned and maintained, also be a large year-round addition for tourism. An urban indoor garden is a world-class attraction, as well as being a haven for residents.

Such a garden even enhances our beloved name, 'Garden of the Gulf.'

Please - anything but apartments or condos.
