Three cheers are due to MLA Allen Roach for tabling a bill in the legislature that would prohibit plastic bags. I expect he is like many of us who have grown up in a generation where there were no plastic bags and the use of paper bags and reused cardboard boxes was the norm.

LETTER: Serious response to plastic bags

I think the public should be shown what a week of plastic bags looks like. We need to save our fish and our beautiful Island. I hope the members of our P.E.I. opposition parties don’t complain too much about this bill.

Keep up the good work, Allen.

John J. Flynn,
