Spurgeon Joseph Hazelden

Peacefully at the Souris Hospital, with family by his side of Spurgeon Joseph Hazelden who passed into eternal rest on Sunday, September 16, 2018. Born on April 26, 1929, he is the son of the late Joseph and Grace Hazelden and predeceased by his wife Esther (nee Swanson). Loving father of Carol Shepherd (Earle), Laurena Singleton (Derryl), and Brian (Shirley). Dear grandfather to 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren. He is survived by his sister Thelma Rose (Huntley); sons-in-law Syl MacDonald, Eric Fleury, and numerous nieces and nephews. Predeceased by daughters Sandra MacDonald, Sylvia Fleury; brother Russell, and loving partner Emma Rideout. Resting at Dingwell Funeral Home with visiting hours on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 from 2-4p.m. and 6-8p.m., with a legion service to be held at 5:30p.m. A funeral will be held at St. Mary’s Roman Catholic Church on Thursday, September 20, 2018 at 2p.m. Interment to follow in the Union Cemetery, Souris West.
