Marguerite V. ‘Marg’ Winters

Age 93, of Parrsboro, Nova Scotia passed away peacefully on Monday, February 12, 2018 at the South Cumberland Community Care Centre, Parrsboro surrounded by the love of her family. Born in Parrsboro, she was a daughter of the late Otto and Mary (McGrath) Phinney. Marg was a life-long member of St. George’s Anglican Church Choir, the St. George’s ACW and Parrsboro Legion Branch No. 45 Ladies Auxiliary. She was a loving mother of Sandra Hiltz (Doug), Parrsboro; Maria Winters, Parrsboro; Clovia Atkinson (John), Parrsboro; Virginia Pettigrew, Calgary, Alta.; Mike Winters (Heather), Parrsboro; Bernie Winters (Sherry), Morell, PEI. Devoted grandmother of 17 grandchildren, 24 great grandchildren, 8 great-great grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Roy in 2012; sisters, Rhoda Blenkhorn, Cecelia Parker; her brother, Lawrence ‘Peewee’ Phinney. Visitation 2-4, 6-8 p.m. today [Wednesday, February 14, 2018] at Smith’s Funeral Home, Parrsboro. Funeral 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at St. George’s Anglican Church, Parrsboro, Rev. Dr. Brian Spence officiating. Burial in the church cemetery. Reception to follow at the St. George’s Anglican Church Hall. Memorial donations may be made to St. George’s Anglican Church.
