Fran Mcdonald

The death occurred peacefully with family by her side, at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital, Charlottetown, on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, of Fran McDonald (nee Gallant), of Rustico and formerly of Kelly’s Cross, wife of the late John Clifford McDonald, aged 68. She was the daughter of the late Leo and Mary Gallant. Fran was the beloved mother of Melissa Gallant (Reg) and John McDonald (Laura Downey); and dearest best friend of Annette Comer (Rich) of Waltham, Mass. She is also fondly remembered by her grandchildren, Ghenyk and Veronica McDonald and their mother, Lori Jaworski; and Chelsea and Faith Downey Thompson; sisters, Doris Reid (Joe), Thelma Hancock (Jack) of Alberta and Anita Doiron (Melvin) of Alberta; and brothers, Paul Gallant (Gladys) of Ontario and Raymond Gallant (Debbie); and numerous special nieces and nephews whom she held so dear to her heart. Resting at Central Queens Funeral Home, 2538 Glasgow Road, New Glasgow, for visitation on Sunday, May 13, 2018, from 5-8 p.m. The CWL will hold a prayer service prior to the visitation at 4:45 p.m. Funeral mass will be celebrated at St. Augustine’s Roman Catholic Church, Rustico, on Monday, May 14, 2018 at 10:30 a.m. Interment in St. Joseph’s Cemetery, Kelly’s Cross at 2:30 p.m. If so desired, donations to the Central Queen’s Funeral Home Building Fund would be appreciated.
