Barnaby John (BJ) O'Hanley

Peacefully at his home in St Peter’s Bay, we regret to announce the passing of a dear husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend, BJ O’Hanley on May 23, 2018 in his 85th year. Loving husband of 63 years to Pauline (nee MacDonald). Beloved father of Bonnie (Keith) Pearle, Rose (Merlin) Affleck, Coleen (Danny) MacIsaac, Emmett (deceased) (Bonnie), Mary, Claire (Henry) Garrett, John (Lori), and Frankie (Sheryll). Devoted Poppy and Grampie to 18 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Brother to Katherine (Harold – deceased) Thompson, Desi, Bernie (Jackie – deceased) Lewis. Predeceased by his parents Mary Jane and Boniface O’Hanley, son Emmett, daughter-in-law, Shelley O’Hanley, brothers and sisters: Henry, Eugene, Mary, Peggy, and Emmett. Fondly remembered by numerous nieces and nephews. BJ was a dedicated Community member. He was a bus driver for 30 years and devoted fireman for 65 years. Resting at the Dr. Roddie Community Center on Sunday, May 27 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. A firemen’s funeral will take place at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Church, St. Peter’s Bay, at 2 p.m. on Monday, May 28, 2018. Interment will be at St. Peter’s Roman Catholic Cemetery following the funeral. Memorial donations in BJ’s memory may be made to the St. Peter’s Fire Department Equipment Fund.
