Summerside Police Services this week charged a 32-year-old man with assault causing bodily harm.

At about 9:40 p.m. Tuesday, police were dispatched to a Duke Street residence where a man had reportedly been assaulted and was in need of medical attention.

Police, along with Island EMS, attended the scene and found the victim, a 68-yearold Summerside man, with facial injuries.

He was transported to Prince County Hospital for treatment of not life-threatening injuries.

The suspect, from Summerside, was located at his residence and arrested.

He was released from custody with conditions to have no contact with the victim and will appear in court at a later date to answer to the charge.
