CORNWALL, P.E.I. - A Cornwall man who was arrested after the RCMP responded to an alleged domestic violence incident involving a weapon will stay in custody while his case is before the courts.
Bryce Edwin Thompson, 18, made a brief appearance before a justice of the peace in Charlottetown Friday for a show cause hearing to determine if he should be kept in custody.
Defence lawyer Yolande Murphy said Thompson consented to remain in custody.
On Thursday, a witness told The Guardian she saw the RCMP surround a house with police dogs and rifles drawn on a street in Cornwall.

In a statement issued Friday, Queens District RCMP said they arrested an 18-year-old man after a domestic violence call involving a weapon in the Cornwall area Thursday.
The RCMP said they responded to the call around 5 p.m. and arrested the man at the scene without incident.
Thompson was charged with two counts of uttering threats to cause death, one count of assault with a weapon and one count of breaching his probation.
Before his arrest Thursday, Thompson was also facing unrelated charges, including uttering a threat to harm an animal, several counts of assault and multiple breaches of court orders.
Thompson’s next court appearance is scheduled for Oct. 30.
